It was after visiting old friend Iain Finlay Macleod's family-owned Breanish Tweed operation on the remote windswept Isle of Lewis
that Susie fell in love with the ancient art of tweed-making.

' The island is simply magical and full of natural beauty' says Susie. 'Green hills surrounded by a wild sea, little sheep dotted precariously on the mountainside, and communities of artists and weavers producing crafts harking back hundreds of years…it was completely inspiring.'

It was this inspiration and a profound desire to help keep the art of hand-weaving alive that led Susie to design her first range of classic Tweed jackets.
